Quaker Lives

Every week you can learn more about Quakers and experience sitting in silence.

The weekly Quaker Lives session is for people who are curious about Quakers. You might be new to Quakers or have been thinking about giving Quakers a try for a little while. At each session, which is held on Zoom, you will;

  • learn a little about the background of Quakers,

  • hear from a Quaker about how being a Quaker has enriched their life,

  • have an opportunity to ask questions, and

  • try Quaker silence with a short Meeting for Worship

The sessions are every Tuesday evening at 7pm and last for an hour.

What previous participants said

I very much enjoy our regular Tuesday evening meetings. Now I attend Wednesday lunchtime meetings at my local Quaker meeting and what I’ve learnt - that something changes us - is true. I seem to have become a nicer more caring of others person without even trying to be good. It’s quite extraordinary.
It exceeded my expectations. It was such a simple, warm atmosphere. Thank you
This was good because it shows that you don’t have to have conventional religious views.
It achieved a very deep quality, very quickly which surprised me as I haven’t been to a zoom Meeting before.
I have really enjoyed my first two sessions. I come from a Catholic background, and contrary to that part of my history, I am drawn to the simplicity and the rich community Quakers offer.
