Celebrating George Fox
This year it’s 400 years since the birth of George Fox, who many think of as the founder of Quakers. It’s probably more accurate to say he is the best known of the group of early co-founders who inspired the rapid growth of Quakers in the 17th Century.
If you’re wondering who George Fox was and what led him and others to challenge the existing church you can find the answers in these two BBC podcasts on our website;
George Fox and the Quakers with Melvyn Bragg, and
George Fox, an episode of the Great Lives series with Matthew Paris and guests Ann Limb and Jonathan Fryer.
